Portraits

Coming Face to Face with people in a spontaneous and dynamic way is a passion for me. These portraits are a selection of people I have met for a brief few minutes during exhibitions and events that bring people together in ways they would not normally meet.

Portraiture for me is about the contact, the curiosity about who they are and what they do, and I spend most of the time with them just talking. To find the character of a person there must be complete trust between us - giving each other the opportunity to discover. There must be a feeling of intimacy. As new friends we play, laugh and enjoy and the camera is forgotten. By creating walls of these portraits as they are taken, we see ourselves as part of a larger picture of community.
