Beyond the horizon

I grew up in the years of space travel. Gazing up at the stars as a child, and trying hard to see the first satelite orbiting the earth in 1957 was a preoccupation for me. When the Americans put a man on the moon my enthusiasm for what lay beyond this world fueled a life time of curiosity and wonder.

These works form two distinct parts. A Simple Geometry of Space references basic geometrical forms, arc and intersecting line - the kind of drawing one might find from ancient astronomers. The second part - A Complex Geometry of Time references with nebula-like clouds and mechanical tools the passion man has developed through science and technology to unravel the complexities of the universe.

Each work is unique because of the hand coating and painterly preparation of the Tyvek and print methods.
