Lahti Art Museum 2016-17

This exhibition was the culmination of three years work from 2014-16 documenting the traditional crafts of the Kathmandu Valley in both still photographs and short video documentaries.

Primarily works carried out by the Newari, the crafts featured Drum making, Bronze casting, Copper forming, Thangka Painting and Silk Thangka, Wood and Stone Carving, Paper making, Kukhuri knives and Tibetan Jewellery.

Dozens of works by contemporary artisans were imported for the exhibition which ran for 4 months attracting more visitors from all over Finland than any previous exhibition in the museums 30 year history.
